Mats (pronounced Mott’s) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago and the creator behind PLANET MATS. With work spanning fashion, fiber art, installation, and performance, Mats is a true multihyphenate. Mats blends inspiration from often-overlooked organic life such as microbes, bugs, and prehistoric creatures with the fantastical colors and forms of sci-fi, anime, and children’s cartoons.
